enableColumnHide: false is not working in grid after calling afterrender event

In my grid i am doing like this

in after render event

In the above code 'colmnFlds' fields are coming from database.

After that in columns i did like this

So in column fields i am getting 0,1 and so the two fields are showing in grid. But for the first field i don't want to enable column hide property.

Please help me and correct me if i am doing wrong

Model validation message

I have a separate config singleton that I require first (this is the first item in my requires array) in app.js. I'd like to use a validation message inside of my models that will be pulled from this config file something like this:

I have a form and a grid on a Panel together. The form is a search criteria filter for the grid.

What is the best practice to handle the submission of the form which should reload the grid? I decided to handle the event in the View's controller since I need to access the grid's store. - Is this correct?

The issue I'm having is how, do I reload the grid's store with the response received by the search filter?

Am I loading the data from result into the grid correctly? There is no data being displayed in the grid.

Two viewControllers in same folder

Is possible put two view controllers into same folder? I seen many examples but almost all shows how you can create viewController in different namespaces. However when I try put two controllers + views into same folder event failed:

Cannot play some of the embedded youtube video in sencha touch carousel

Strange behaviour on a Sencha Touch carousel on a Safari browser. I can seem to figure out what is wrong with it.

Simple Sencha Touch carousel with 2 cards, each card has an embedded youtube video using iFrame. First video in a first card play with no problem, but the second card the play button on the video player will not respond to clicked/touch.

Is there any fully working REST, CRUD, MVVM example that follows guidelines of documentation?

For a beginner like me it is not easy, because:

1. documentation is not continues, whole (there is always a missing piece)

2. examples do not follow documentation (namespacing, using new keyword, everything defined in runtime on document load)

ViewModel validation

Hi folks,

I was wondering whether there is an easy way to validate a ViewModel. I really like the concept of validating a Model, but since there is no way to define fields and rules for ViewModels, obviously there is no way to validate the data in it.

Is there a workaround or an optimal solution for this? Or did I miss something obvious?

High DPI/Scaling support for Architect

It does not seem like Sencha Architect supports high DPI screens with Microsoft Windows scaling. For clarification, Sencha Architect is blurry when ran on a high DPI screen with scaling. The apps it produces are nice and sharp.

Is there a plan to support high DPI screens with scaling? If so, when?

Export Model/Store to File... as PDO or MSQLi object?

Hi,

In Architect 3, I can see that both Model and Store can be "Saved to Toolbox" and "Exported to File...".

I can understand the importance of saving model/store in the Toolbox...

But for the capability to export Store as a File... I think it will be more meaningful if that file can be in a Data Object format that can be consumed by PHP, .NET, Perl, etc... to complete the persistence of STORE to MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB.... NOSQL, MongoDB.... VoltDB.... ScienceDB....

I believe SA3's roadmap is not to be an end-to-end IDE like Eclipse/Netbeans... but exporting Store with all it's DB Persistence related properties as Data Objects of other languages is a great help for SA developers like us.

If Sencha will consider:

1. Convert the Store in the format of PDO, mysqli, or the old mysql format (in the case of MySQL).

2. Include JSON Request Response writer in the exported code.

3. Include the handling of extraParams in the generated code

4. Take the Store's data type definition of each field as the basis for the creation of DB Tables.

Lastly, I hope Sencha will reconsider buiding an IDE for data modeling, ORM, etc. just like Wakanda (http://ift.tt/1qhCeyq).

when doing production build, get error: SyntaxError: Invalid regular expression

Hi all,

I'm having a problem getting a production build to load in the browser. I am using Architect, and doing the production build that way (which I'm assuming is pretty much the same as if I did cmd through the command line).

I can do a build for testing and that actually works fine, but when I switch to production, I get an error in app.js that is:

Error evaluating app.js with message: SyntaxError: Invalid regular expression: nothing to repeat

(that's what Safari is reporting)

The big difference that I see between production and testing is that all of the js files get minified, so I'm guessing there is something with the minification causing this problem. That makes it pretty tough to debug, because I can't really figure out where the error is coming from in the minified app.js file.

I know this isn't much to go on, but I'm wondering if anyone else has come across something like this in cmd, and if there is a compile option or something to set to overcome it.

Custom configs defined in Architect 3 not working when i build my touch webapp

I have a Sencha Touch 2.3.1 Project in Architect 3 and when i add custom configs to any objects as you can see in the attach image under Custom Properties, when i Build (Compile) the project to Testing or Production these custom configs does not generate in that environments, if i try to access to the object that have these custom configs in Testing or Production environments like this:

Grid problem

Hi,

I have created a very simple project that displays a few hundred records in a grid.

The problem is that the grid doesn't seem to display correctly. As shown in image below, the grid does not use all available space.

If I sort one column by clicking on the column header all available space is used but I suddenly have two scrollbars??? See image below

What is happening here? Please help me on this. I have been very impressed with what I've seen of Ext JS so far, but that this simple example fails makes me a little bit scared about the quality of the widgets. Hopefully it is me that does something wrong. My view file looks like this:

How to download source for Ticket App?

I feel really stupid asking this, but how the heck do I download the source for the Ticket App found in the examples section. I´m reading trough the docs and it says to inspect the Ticket App since it is well commented and using best practice. Then all that is provided is a link to run the app. Am I blind? Is there a obvious magical download link that I missed?

This is obviously a very hacked together example from our code which I've taken a ton of stuff out but the general question is this:

Why, when we update a field value in a record, does it not re-evaluate the mapping functions? Is there a way to force it to? Alternatively do we have to resort to using the "last minute" prepareData function (where it's available) to do this mapping on the fly (as this does get called in data views when a record gets updated).

Here's a quick use case of why this is important (at least to us );

A user action, a click for example, triggers an ajax call that tells the server to update the status of a field from 'field.status.draft' to 'field.status.published'. The response to the ajax method contains the updated record so we can integrate that back into our store without having to make another server round trip to refresh our store. All great so far but.....the mapping functions aren't called again on the new record values so any computed fields are not correct. So, back to my questions; is there a way to force the mapping functions to kick in or failing that, is there a better standard practice we should implement?

Sencha CMD 4 app.js script creation issue

I am having an issue with the app.js file that is output as a result of the build process. The app.js file that is produced has the content of my config.js file in a location that is after where it needs to be and this results in script errors when it executes in a browser. How can I make sure that the contents of the config.js file are included correctly by Sencha CMD? I am using 4.2 of EXTJS with Sencha CMD 4.

I have reviewed the Sencha CMD documentation but it is not clear to me how this script creation process actually is intended to work and how I can control it through configuration files. Any help is greatly appreciated.

height of Empty row in the dropdown

Hi All,

I am trying to add a Blank text row to a dropdown.I was able to set a blank record in the store and showing it at the first index.

The problem is if i am giving blank value the height of the row is tiny(almost half of the other rows) than the other value's row.

Can anyone please help me in the issue how the height of the blank record can be equal to the height of other rows (Other Values in the drop down)?

Application merge error after GitHub pull

REQUIRED INFORMATION

Architect Build tested:

Description:

• After pulling from GitHub (via Git-Tower), Application config is lost and changes app name to default "MyApp."

Steps to reproduce the problem:

• Pull from Git after teammate pushed change to Architect project while SA is open and project is in development. No conflicts found from Git pull.

The result that was expected:

• Updated classes should present no change to the application config.

The result that occurs instead:

• Application config is completely lost.


• Now have two separate Application in Project Inspector.


• Forced to close SA and restart.


• Then only a single application category is found.


• Have to reconfig the properties for appName, appFolder, name, Loader, etc...

I used SA last week. Today I tried starting it but I only see a big white empty window and the spinning ball. Nothing happens. I deleted two preference files

Card Layout - Question

Hi team,

In my card layout, I have defined my Card1 and Card2 like this.

Card1 and Card2 are both Grids.

User should select a row and hit Continue button to go to Card2. Card 2 should accept the value of the first column of the selected row on Card1 grid.

Based on this selected value, now the Card2's grid should load. As in, I want to make a rest call to load the Card2 Grid, based on the value of the row that was selected in Card1.

I am planning to use a global variable which I set after the row is selected and then should be used later for making the rest call.

Is there any other way.

Any help is highly appreciated.

   We've been having a problem with IE9 dying during the load process. I can see the request, see the response with the script content, but the script content is empty (at least IE's dev tools shows it to be empty). This seems to kill the loader as no more requests are made and the app never starts because it's waiting for all of the scripts to be loaded. There are no errors reported in the console, windows event logs, or anywhere as far as I can tell. Even more frustrating, while consistent, it's very difficult to reproduce the conditions that cause it. Unfortunately, I tried to create an example for you but wasn't' able to repro on a small scale.
   

   I've tracked it down to Boot.js and the manner of listening for the readystate of the script node. It seems the use of onreadystatechange is not recommended for >=IE9 http://ift.tt/1ftttXj.
   
   I have confirmed this by modifying boot.js to follow the pattern demonstrated in the MSDN article (using the load event and appending the script node to the head to initiate an async script load) and it fixes the problem.

Problem with simple grid test

Hi,

I've created a simple project trying to display some data in a grid. It kind of works, the data is displayed in the grid, but the grid is strangely formatted and it is not possible for me to bring up the menu that includes : 'Sort Ascending, Sort Descending, Columns' by clicking on the grid header.

Below is my Main view file where I create the grid.

YOUTUBE PLAYER CONTINUE PLAYING A VIDEO IN THE BACKGROUND

Am creating a sencha app which includes using the YouTube player. The player works fine, But the problem is that when am navigating the app, the video stays playing in the background. Even when i try to remove the view from the viewport the loaded video continues to play,

Rebuilding Ticket-App - theme missing

I haven't really worked with Sencha cmd before, but would like to start.

This is likely an easy problem for seasoned cmd users.

I'm trying to build the ticket-app from the 5.0.0-GPL package.

I installed the latest version of Sencha cmd and changed to the examples/ticket-app folder (in the root directory).

When I execute sencha app build I get the following output

I have tried below steps but it's not working showing some error.

Steps3: run cmd

No way to refresh Grid Summary after grid data is changed

I'm using a grid with "groupingsummary" feature in Ext JS 5. In this grid, I'm adding few records after which I reload my grid store. But after store is successfully reloaded, the summary row of grid is not reloaded for those previous/old records, while summary row looks fine for new records.

Till Ext JS 4.x , there was a method to refresh Grid summary as below :

How would one go about overriding the default date format of a sencha-touch app?

I have seen threads that advise to use something along the lines of the following code:

Cache enabling for project?

I have project created by sencha cmd.

Usually It adds timestamps into loading scripts url. It's not good for debugging via browser.

I add ?cache into my URL to disble it and it crashes loading.

Refusing to exclude file

No matter what I do I can't seem to get CMD to exclude a js file...I'm using Sencha Architect 3 to do the build. So it's generated me a build.xml file which loads build-impl.xml which loads init-impl.xml.

I've tried placing the below into init-impl.xml which partially works. When Architect does the build I see the echos yet it refuses to honour the exclude property.

What am I doing wrong?

In ExtJS 4.2.2, how can I create a floating window initially rendered off-screen?

I want a notifications window to be 200px high, and width of application.

Initially it should render just below the app, so it is basically off-screen.

When a "notification" is received by the app, I want this notifications window to move up from the bottom into view.

After 20 seconds I will move the window back down out of view.

Currently I am using Ext.window.Window, but when the window is hidden, a scroll bar displays, because it is not hidden, just positioned off screen.

What is the best way to achieve what I want? Should it be hidden and positioned off-screen, and then when I want it to display, animate the showing and moving of the window?

I don't necessarily need to use a window, it could be a panel or container.

How do I reload my application changes such as view/controller changes in simulator without the need to rebuild and relaunch the simulator?

Process I follow as of now:

1. Make changes to app sources

2. Run "sencha app build -run native" command to build and launch using phonegap (I initialized the app for phonegap)

This launches the app in simulator. But for every change I make I am forced to close the simulator and run above step(2) command which takes time.

Isn't there an easy way to reload the changes in simulator?

in Extjs4 without cmd, i used to put this Ext.Direct line before my app.js <br>

ext.msg.show changing defaults

I'm having a problem with this bit of code. For this particular message box I want the height to be 300 and scrollable to be true because message is quite large. However after this is called any message box (confirm, alert, prompt) seem to inherit both the height and scrollable values which I do not want. Is there a way around this?

Show load/wait mask, when using DIRECT store with autoSync, how to?

Hi dear sirs/madams,

i am using autoSync feature and i would like to show load/wait mask, for every operation (read, write) and when operation would finish, i would hide load mask.

I know if i run sync() manually, i can do it like this:

The Problem is: I need to set the viewmodels data manually after reloading the grid's store. I trie'd to overwrite the defaultBindProperty's setter Method to catch a data change. But at this time the widgetrecord is still null.

Is there a way to catch a data changed in widgetcolumn or the widget itshelf? Or is there a way to access the widgets via the grid?

How can I extend the customized controller in SA 3 ? :)

I'm using Sencha Architect 3, and I create 2 controller use the "profile":

sencha app build native not uploading to build.phonegap

I used to be able to do sencha app build native with phonegap.local.properties set as phonegap.build.remote=true and the username password to connect to Adobe's Phonegap Build service.

After upgrading to v5, running sencha app build native doesn't upload anymore. The last line in the log says:

[INF] Building output markup to /Library/WebServer/Documents/myapp/phonegap/www/index.html

Thoughts? This is a complete blocker for the moment. Please help! Thanks!

sencha app watch error

On running sencha app watch, I'm getting the following:

Practical Ext JS 4 sample fails

On pages 70 and 71 of this book, it has this example, which I converted to coffeeScript, and used latest ExtJS5 CDN. It does run, but doesn't return correct record.

I looked at the code several times, and checked your documentation.

Nothing obvious shows up.

Can you reproduce this, and if so, what I am doing wrong?

Can't use Architect 3.0.4 due to constant error: Unknown option: `-l' Usage: tcsh [ -

Howdy all, we are trying to migrate some of our existing apps from 2.x to 3.x Architect. Went to install the latest 3.x and after install prompted us for an update. Tried several times all with a failure of:

Unknown option: `-l'

Usage: tcsh [ -bcdefilmnqstvVxX ] [ argument ... ].

Found a small hint on the site about manually installing Cmd 4.x instead of 5.x. After that the upgrade worked, but now when we go to publish we get this error:

I'm currently debugging IE issues on an application.

I'm getting an 'Object doesn't support this property or method' when I try to .addEventListener to my XMLHttpRequest object.

It seems to me that in IE8 the addEventListener method isn't being recognized as a method for my xhr object.
