Can you put checkboxes in a multiselect?

I've got a form that contains a multiselect form field.

Is it possible to make the selection a checkbox instead of just coloring the row?

Since it is a form and I'm submitting the form, I didn't want to use the grid if it was possible to get the checkbox look without it.
