Touch 2.4.0 apps crashing on iOS8

Hi,

I'm having an issue with my apps instantly crashing at startup about 10-40% of the time on iOS8. I created a new app with no modifications, built with phonegap (no plugins) and was still receiving this problem.

I looked into it a bit and it seems other people are having similar troubles, and that the problem is likely a compatibility issue with Sencha Touch and iOS8. I understand iOS8 is not officially supported yet, but is there a workaround for this without having to pay for access to the nightly builds - obviously it's a pretty critical issue and waiting for the 2.4.1 release may not be feasible.
