sencha app watch - how to ignore files?

I'm having issues with the "app watch" command erroring out because it is watching things that should not matter, such as Eclipse or IntelliJ project files (in hidden folders).

I've tried adding additional regexes to the "ignore" property in app.json, but this doesn't seem to affect the watch command. Is there some way to define file patterns for the watch command to ignore?
