Saving TreeStore Data locally with Local Storage

I know this is an old and many times asked question, but apparently there is no easy answer and all that I found talks about old versions of Sencha Touch.

My problem is this:

I have a Nested list in my app, which is populated using a TreeStore which loads data from the server.

I need to cache these data, but I can't figure out how to do this with LocalStorage, is there a way to do this?

Is there a way to cache Tree Store data?
