Parent Object not getting updated on Textfield change

Hi All, On updating a textfield with new value without refreshing the session, the new values are not getting stamped in the controller on buttontap action. On button tap action, the old values are still persisting in the parent object.

'this.getDatElement.getValue' returns the old value instead of the new value. On refreshing the browser, the new values are getting populated.

Please help.
