Display hierarchy for navigation view

Hi,

I have a navigation view which works in a similar way to the Kitchen Sink demo. I have a menu on the left which when tapped goes down through a hierarchy of levels before showing a detail form for data entry.

From the kitchen sink demo an example hierarchy is User Interface > Buttons. My app has more levels than this, for example: Kitchen > Flooring > Floor Boards

Can anyone tell me how I can display this hierarchy in my detail view? For example, I'd like to show it as

Kitchen/Flooring/Floor Boards

Part of my problem is that I don't understand how the navigation view works so I'm at a loss to see where I might pick this data up from.
