There is something that is contributing to heap-unclassified at about:memory that is displayed by Firefox if you leave it overnight. But I'm unfamiliar with that.
Other than that, if there is no action column while polling (i.e remove the whole column), the memory usage for both browsers would be fine.
I have attached memory reports I have measured via Firefox within 10 minutes running the above test case with sencha fiddle.
Would be more than happy to provide more info if necessary.
- Ext 4.2.1 rev 883
Browser versions tested against:
- Chrome version 33.0.1750.154m
- FF28
Description:
- There seems to be a memory leak when Action Column is in the grid while polling every few seconds on Firefox. For my use case I poll every 15 seconds. I went to about:memory page after leaving Firefox overnight and have seen heap-unclassified gone up to 1-2GB. Chrome is fine.
- My test case refreshes every 100 milliseconds just to speed things up.
- I've used both sencha's fiddle and jsfiddler, it seems to be more obvious with jsfiddler.
- Chrome does not seem to exhibit such behaviour
JSFiddle/Test Cases:
http://ift.tt/1dnhVuj
more obvious with jsfiddler - http://ift.tt/1jCPTtg
Steps to reproduce the problem:
- Leave it running on Firefox for maybe 10-30 minutes unless you tweak the number of milliseconds to poll new data
The result that was expected:
- Memory usage should stay where it started from
The result that occurs instead:
- Memory usage spikes to >= 500 MB for Firefox, A lot is contributing to heap-unclassified (100++MB?) Chrome's fine/stays at a normal rate
